Research Scale Test Plants Arrive at Guelph, Ontario Plant
On October 31, 2006, Dynamotive announced the possible move of its two existing pilot scale research plants to the Guelph, Ontario site. At the end of May, the company’s 2 tpd and 15 tpd arrived at the Guelph plant site for extensive research utilization. This unites exploratory development with actual operation at the same site.
The preliminary plan is to bring the 2 tpd on stream in Q4, 2007. Its rate of throughput and size makes it particularly useful for testing new feed stocks, e.g. wheat straw, rice straw, palm fronts, rape seed and canola plant waste, and corn residuals from ethanol production, among others. In addition, it will also serve as an experimental plant for the company’s continued advancment in process improvements.
Plans for the 15 tpd plant are currently under review. As a larger capacity unit it is an excellent research tool for endurance testing.
